Student Ministry

Vision Statement

To transform our community and world through the power of God's Spirit into disciples of Jesus Christ.

Mission Statement

Our mission is to win teens to God, build them in the faith, and send them to make disciples in partnership with parents or guardians.

5 Core Values

We Value Gospel-Centered Ministry

A gospel-centered ministry is one where the Gospel is the core message of all we do. Our teaching and discipleship must be Biblical and gospel-centered. This means that the Gospel Story of God’s redemptive work is seen from cover to cover of the Bible and it is the core context from which we teach and equip. The Gospel must drive and motivate our strategy.

We Value Partnership with Parents

We believe that God has given parents the incredible privilege of being the primary disciple-makers of their children. We also believe that the “church” and the “family” need to work together to see the effective growth of students. These two institutions are designed to work hand in hand and not apart from each other. At each step in our process, we are trying to think how we can practically resource, equip, and involve parents as we all seek to disciple students.

We Value Biblical Community

Students need multiple voices saying the same thing about Jesus. God designed people to grow in the context of relationships. The church offers meaningful and authentic relationships which will reinforce a parent’s voice.

We Value Go and Be Ministry

For too long, “church” has been “done” primarily in one location (typically the church building). We want to communicate that the Christian life is not about showing up somewhere once a week. It is not so much about “come and see” as it is “go and be.” Faith is active, alive, and adventurous. An incarnational ministry is one that happens in various location, wherever the Lord has planted us. We believe that our students, in the context of relationships, are the “front door” to the youth ministry at Grace and to Christ. We believe that they are called to lead others to Christ through relationships “as they go” throughout the week.

We Value the Discipleship of Families

We believe that God has called us to minister to students and to their families. We seek not only for students to know Jesus but also their parents. In concerted prayer, our hope is for every family to be a Gospel-centered family in which Christ is treasured and glorified.
